the pearls of latra

The pearls of Lutra takes place when Matemeo's son Martin is the warrior of Redwall. A couple seasons before a weasel called Graylunk visited the abbey. He was not in good condition, he had suffered a head injury and was rambling on about Mad Eyes. No one knew it at the time but he gave Fermald some pearls which he stole from his captain, Conva, captain of the wave worm, who had stolen them from Lutra and thought he killed all of the creatures there. Graylunk later stole Fermald's spoon, ran off and fell in a hole and died. But the three key pieces of information are that the pearls were stolen from Conva that they are in red wall and Mad Eyes. Now Mad Eyes is a name for a pine martian that has the ability to hypnotize any creature by looking directly into it's eyes. He uses this ability and his cunning to control a criminal empire. the corsairs in his empire have to stop at his island every so often or they are targeted as traitors to his empire. The corsairs are getting fed up with how they're treated. Ublaz (mad eyes) has a group of monitor lizards and corsairs going to try and take the pearls from red wall. These pearls are called The Tears of The Oceans and are rose colored and there are six of them. Fermald hid them all over the abbey before she died and Tansy and Rollo are trying to find them to ransom the abbot and Viola from the monitors and corsairs sent by Ublaz. Also Martin is trying to rescue the abbot and Viola. This is a brief summary of some of some this book. It is a good book and this post would make more sense after you've read the book.
