risk

Risk is a board game in which the players goal is global domination. There are several things you need to know be before you crush your opponents with your military superiority. I'll break it into sections, first there is the map, then the the luck and numbers and how they change how the other works. Lets start with the map. The map is divided into six continents, they are North and South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Australia. if you don't know what these continents look like, go look at a map. These are divided into territories, in total there are 42 territories. In between the continents and some territories there are oceans which can only be crossed at the dotted lines. This is Important because if you control a continent you will get bonus armies for every turn on which you still control all of the territories on that continent. The luck aspect comes into play as an equalizer so it limits the performance of your armies to chance. How you combat this problem is with more armies means more chance which means better odds. that also comes to into play with the dice for the the defender to make full use of the two dice he can use he has to have two or more armies defending his territory other wise he has 1 die he is able to use. The attacker can have 1-3 die but he has to have at least as many armies as the number of dice he is rolling. after the dice have been rolled the highest attackers die is compared to the highest defenders die the the person with the lower die loses an army, in the case of a tie the defender wins. If there are enough dice in play the same is repeated with the next highest and the loser loses an army. This makes it so the entire game is based on how you balance risk.
